It usually begins with a tingling or burning sensation of then skin and then develops into muscle spasms to the point where you may not be unable to go about your daily life as you once did. But not only is it a crippling disease of the body, but of the mind and spirit as well. This is due to the fact that the physical pain can leave you feeling down and put you in a state of hopelessness. Perhaps it doesn’t help either when the doctors tell you that there is no hope for a cure, and that you will be stuck with this terrible disease for the rest of your life. However, you can take control of your symptoms by adding healthy foods to your diet. One of these foods that you can add to your diet is raw cacao. What is Raw Cacao? Believe it or not, but cacao is grown on a fruit tree in the tropical areas of the world. It is where all chocolate comes from. But the chocolate that has been processed is not good for you as it has most of its nutrients stripped out, and other ingredients added to it. Raw cacao has not been processed or heat treated even though you can buy it in powder form, in nibs as well as the whole cacao bean. Cacao beans contain calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, vitamin A, B1 and B2, oleic acid, antioxidants, tryptophan and other essential nutrients. How it Helps Antioxidants. Studies show that toxins are a cause of fibromyalgia. They can cause your muscles to cramp up, lead to depression, anxiety and sleepless nights. Raw cacao has high levels of antioxidants that can help to remove the toxins from your body so that you can begin to overcome those symptoms and get your life back. Tryptophan. Tryptophan is an amino acid which converts into serotonin in the body. Serotonin helps you to relax so that you can overcome anxiety, depression, fibro fog and sleep better at night. Restore Nutrients. Studies show that fibromyalgia sufferers are deficient in nutrients, such as calcium and magnesium. Raw cacao contains both of these, and thus can help you to restore those nutrients back to your body. Calcium and magnesium both can help to regulate your muscles so that you can overcome muscle spasms once and for all.
